Thinking of converting?

One important aspect of fueling your space is considering whether you want to use oil or gas. Though gas is popular, oil has many advantages. Heating oil is clean and environmentally friendly. The No. 2 fuel oil that we sell contains bio diesel, making it much cleaner and environmentally safe. Oil is also dependable and allows you to control your own personal oil supply, stored on your own property. You choose how to use and conserve your supply as you need it, and our automatic delivery service will ensure you never run out. Additionally, heating oil is safe; it is non-explosive and only ignites by an advanced burning system within an oil-burner or furnace.

There are also actions you can take to conserve energy within your home or business.

Here are a few tips of the trade:

  • Apply permanent weather stripping
  • Install a programmable thermostat
  • Use motion sensor outdoor lights
  • Maintain your boiler yearly
  • Keep unused rooms closed off
  • Use a humidifier
  • Keep radiators unblocked
  • Run fans in reverse
  • Install storm doors
  • Clean behind and underneath your refrigerator annually
  • Turn down your water heater's temperature
  • Wash your clothes in cold water
  • Use the sun's energy by keeping shades up during the day
  • Unplug appliances when not in use
  • Cover all bare floors with carpeting or rugs to add comfort and heat retention. This is helpful if there is little or no flooring insulation.
  • Raise the temperature in your space slowly to keep your bill lower. Quickly raising your heat pump's temperature activates the heat strip, which uses a huge amount of energy.
  • Set your thermostat to 68-70 degrees during the day in the winter, and 65-68 degrees at night to keep your home comfortable and heat-efficient.
  • Close the flue in your fireplace and install glass doors to keep the warm air in.
  • Don't block air vents with drapes and other furniture.
  • Use an energy-efficient heat pump.
  • Change the filters in your heating system every two months for optimum efficiency.
  • Lower your thermostat every time you leave the house.
